Apple Mac users might be interested in this:
Mac users waiting for a native version of OpenOffice.org might see it sooner than they might have thought, now that Sun has thrown its support behind the project.Sun’s Philipp Lohmann announced on his blog this morning that Sun will help with the port of OpenOffice–the open-source version of Sun’s StarOffice productivity suite–to Aqua, the Mac user interface. This has been an ongoing project for almost five years, ever since Sun released a beta version of OpenOffice for Mac users. That version, however, required the installation of additional software since it wasn’t built using Apple’s Aqua and Quartz graphics technology. Sun hopes it can speed up the process of creating a native version with the help of its developers, Lohmann said. Still, (perhaps smartly) he didn’t offer a timetable.

13|May|2007 1Please, please hurry. I want to rid my MACs of every last vestige of Microsoft Office and any thing else they have placed on my hard drives. I am junking all of my PCs and never looking back. Even their Word program for MACs did not function very well. Open Office will be well received by MAC owners.

22|Aug|2007 3I agree. But I have to rant on my pet peeve for a second. The Mac is not a freaking acronym. It’s a mac or a Mac, not a MAC
