… before we were rudely interrupted by a malware attack, we’re dedicated to the proposition that people who want to consider switching to non-Microsoft software ought to have a place to go. We’ve used the downtime to rethink the site — in particular to reconsider our strategy. Many users told us that what they wanted was more editorial input, and better organisation — so that, for example, people who were new to the area could access stuff written in plain English, while geeks could discuss issues in technical terms. So we’ve redesigned the site as a Blog, and plan to use ‘Categories’ to enable visitors to filter content in any way they wish. (This post, for example, is categorised under ‘Philosophy’.)
This is the start of a major revamp of the site and of our approach to the topic. So please keep an eye on what happens by subscribing to the RSS feed.
Thanks to all those who wrote to us while we were off air wondering what was happening. The basic problem was that we have been busy working on other projects (e.g. Ndiyo) and there are only 24 hours in a day. Sigh.
